I’ve basically been wearing the same oversized sweater and jeans with zip detail for most of my Drakensburg trip. When the majority of your day is made up of long walks and lazy afternoons spent on the couch watching Wimbledon, you tend to put on what makes you most comfortable. But, after an exhilarating canopy tour through the Drakensburg forest, my energy levels increased slightly. For those that don’t know, this is a tour via zip-lines through the trees, and rather high up, I might add. With my increase in energy, I felt it time for an outfit change and a subsequent outfit post.
All us fashion lovers are well aware of the retro seventies style that is hugely inspiring the industry as of late. Reimagined forms with wide leg jeans that I am currently lusting over – a sentence I honestly thought I would never utter – and a revitalised love for suede and denim. And if the swinging elegance of the Chloé Drew bag hasn’t yet convinced you of the excellence of this recent decade muse, I’m not too sure what will. While it’s a style that I don’t see inspiring an entire look for me, it is a style I can take subtle inspiration from – such as in the higher neckline of this top and the brown leather chelsea boots that complete this look.
